The PVE National Network consists of actors from all backgrounds who have interacted with the PVE file since the launching of the consultations process in 2016. Such a multi-disciplinary network is particularly needed due to the complexity of the Lebanese reality, which is characterized by the diversity of actors as a result of diversity in the social fabric. The network aims at increasing knowledge-sharing on PVE related issues among its members through an interactive online portal. It will also facilitate continuous consultation and enhance the formation of national and local partnerships and will lay the foundation for a collective implementation and monitoring of the NAP.
In parallel to the development of the National Action Plan, the PVE National Unit has developed an inclusive and structured design for an effective PVE National Network. Institutionalizing the National Network will help facilitate continuous consultations and increase knowledge sharing on PVE issues. The network will enhance the formation of national and local partnerships and will lay the foundation for a collective implementation and monitoring of the NAP.
The PVE National Network engages with institutions and entities within Sectoral Platforms established throughout the national consultations to organize sectoral consultations and coordination with relevant groups such as the UN agencies (UN PVE Taskforce for Lebanon), local prevention networks (Municipalities Platform), banks (Banking Working Group).
Modelling the network helped lay the cornerstone for establishing 9 thematic assemblies, following up on each of the 9 National Strategy and NAP pillars. Every partner contribute to the prioritized areas of intervention of the NAP within relevant assemblies.
